Natural gas consumption in Romania totaled 69.7 million MWh in the first half of 2014, down 4.73% year-on-year, according to a report of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE), cited by local Capital.ro. In the first half of 2013, consumption stood at some 73.2 million MWh.

Internal production of natural gas that goes to consumption represented 93.36% of total sources. Romania’s top two producers, namely Romgaz and Petrom, covered 96.84% of these sources.
