Italian hospital operator Monza has recently opened a new pediatric cardiovascular surgery section within its hospital in Bucharest.

The new department was already operational but was officially inaugurated on October 11.

The section has an operating room with a department of anesthesia and pediatric intensive care, rooms dedicated to children and a special playground area.

The Monza hospital in Bucharest became functional in July 2012, following total investments of EUR 40 million.

The 140-bed hospital, which is located in a nine-floor building close to the main Bucharest stadium, covers 18,000 sqm. It focuses mainly on cardiovascular interventions.
