Mega Image to set foot in former Communist store downtown Bucharest

23 October 2014

Supermarket chain Mega Image, which has been expanding aggressively in Bucharest and elsewhere across Romania in the last two years, will set foot in a very downtown area in the Romanian capital: on Magheru boulevard, close to Romana Square. Mega Image is ready to open shop in the former communist store Eva, which is now owned by Greek investments found BlueHouse, according to market sources quoted by Ziarul Financiar.

The 1,600-sqm space on Magheru boulevard currently lays empty, after tenants like Diverta and Molecule-F closed down their shops here. The move will bring Mega Mage in an area which does not yet have a clear retail development: bookshops exist alongside pretzel shops, pharmacies, and fashion and accessory shops.

Mega Image runs a chain of over 350 units, 90% of which in Bucharest. There’s a Mega Image store at every street corner.

Retailer Mega Image reaches 350 units in Romania with four new openings this week
