Mega Image, one of the largest supermarket chains in Romania, part of Ahold Delhaize Group, has announced a series of changes in its executive committee, which were made after Mircea Moga took over the position of general manager.

Moga took over the new position on October 1 last year, becoming the first Romanian to manage Mega Image.

Now, Emil Ilin took over as Vice-President Commercial, a position formerly occupied by Mircea Moga, prior to his appointment as GM of Mega Image. With more than 20 years of experience in the commercial area, Ilin has been leading the Buying Fresh department in recent years, contributing to the development and implementation of the company's commercial strategy, based on creating a complete shopping experience. In his new role, he coordinates the company's business operations in areas such as business sourcing, category management, own brands, e-commerce and food safety.

Another change announced by Mega Image refers to the appointment of Alina Vladoianu Teau as Vice-President Legal. With over 18 years of experience in the legal field, she joined Mega Image in 2010. She has been a lawyer since 2000 and a member of the Olt Bar Association. In her new role at Mega Image, she will continue to contribute to the development of the retailer, actively participating in implementing both the company's strategic initiatives and those in her own area of responsibility, the company said.

Meanwhile, Hadewych Vermunt took over as Vice-President Finance - a position formerly occupied by Lucian Vilau before his appointment as CFO at the Albert company in the Czech Republic. Vermunt has been part of the Ahold team for seven years, during which he coordinated the activities of Financial Reporting and Management, and of the Business Services Finance Ahold Europe. From the new position, he leads the company's financial operations, contributing to shaping and implementing the company's growth strategy for the coming years.

The executive committee of Mega Image also includes Mihai Spulber – Senior Vice-President Operational, Adrian Nicolaescu – Vice-President Marketing, Communication and Sustainability, and Ileana Alexandru – Vice-President Human Resources.

The Mega Image network is currently made up 676 stores in Bucharest, Cluj, Constanta, Ploiesti, Brasov, Timisoara and other cities across the country, units opened under the brands Mega Image, Shop&Go and Gusturi Romanesti.
