Private healthcare operator MedLife' s hospital MedLife Eva will open a natural birth private unit in Brasov, accredited by the International MotherBaby ChildBirth Organization. Thus, MedLife Eva's maternity unit becomes the first in Romania accredited as a 'Friend Hospital of Birth'.

The birth unit is equipped with a birth room for normal births and in an aquatic environment, special devices for comfortable birth, and provides services from a certified lactation consultant, parenting expert, psychologist with expertise in couples therapy, as well as the possibility of having births with a Doula- not a healthcare professional, but someone who provides physical and spiritual support during pregnancy, birth and first week after birth. The center also organizes Lamaze courses, Hypno-birthing courses and prenatal education.

MedLife has been active in Romania since 1996 and runs nine hospitals in Bucharest, Timisoara, Brasov and Arad; 8 laboratories for medical analysis, 6 hospitals in Bucharest, Brasov and Arad and 3 maternity hospitals in Bucharest and in the country.

MedLife is majority owned by the Marcu family, with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) being a minority shareholder, with 12.7 percent of the shares and SGAM Eastern Europe investment fund, with 36.25 percent of the shares.
