Italian Festival kicks off in Romania mid-May with food, wine, fashion & culture

The sixth edition of the Italian Festival, which usually takes place around the Italian National Day celebrated on June 2, takes place in Romania this year between May 15 and June 17.

During this period, 100 Italian brands and products will be found in over 500 stores, restaurants and retail chains in Romania, at promotional prices. Italian - themed culinary events, and wine and food tastings will also be organized within the festival.

The event’s program includes:

  • Italy’s Taste, May 15 - June 4 - a campaign dedicated to Italian food in all Metro Cash & Carry shops in Romania, which includes culinary demonstrations and promotional offers
  • Buongiorno Italia, May 22 - June 17 - promotes Italian food in all Mega Image shops in Romania, with special offers
  • Italian Week at Carrefour, May 29 - June 4 - promoting Italian products in Carrefour supermarkets, with contests, promotional offers and culinary events
  • Eating in Italian restaurants, May 30 - June 5 - Italian food week in main restaurants in Bucharest, with promotional menus and discounts. The list of restaurants that joined the festival is here. 
  • Italian Fashion Week, May 30 - June 5 - a week of Italian fashion and clothing at several shops in Bucharest and other cities in Romania, which offer special discounts. List of participanting shows is here. 
  • Week of “Made in Italy” interior design, May 30 - June 5 - a week dedicated to Italian interior design and furniture, organized in a number of stores in Bucharest, with promotions and discounts
  • Official celebration of the Italian National Day, June 2 - at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in Bucharest (participation by invitation only)
  • Week of Italian authors, June 2 - June 9 - promotional packages proposed by Nemira publisher in Mistica shop in Bucharest, and in the publisher’s online shop
  • “Italia Food & Wine Day”, June 3, Novotel hotel

The Italian Festival is organized by the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade - ICE office in Bucharest, with the support of the Italian Embassy in Bucharest.

There are 37,000 Italian companies registered in Romania, and the stock of their investments amounts to EUR 1.6 billion.
