Industry turnover up by 8.6% in Romania

Romania’s industry turnover on joint domestic and foreign markets increased by 8.6% year-on-year in the first ten months of the year, due to an increase in manufacturing (8.6%), and mining and quarrying (6.7%), according to provisional data announced by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Turnover increased in the energy industry (18.7%), hard goods (13.1%), capital goods (8.8%), intermediate goods (8.1%) and everyday consumer goods industry (4.5%).

The industry turnover in October went up by 0.1% month-on-month and up by 5.5% year-on-year. In October, the mining and quarrying industry increased by 5.2%, while manufacturing decreased by 0.1%, compared cu September.
