Hungarian interior design franchise Diego opens first store in Romanian capital Bucharest

Hungarian interior design retailer Diego will soon open its first store in the Romanian capital Bucharest, within the Militari Shopping center. Scheduled to open on April 13, the first Diego store in Bucharest will join the existing 21 stores across Romania. The Bucharest opening was a fundamental part of the expansion plan in Romania, according to István Szőke, development director with Diego. The Bucharest shop covers 600 sqm and will sell some 1,000 different products.

Diego runs stores in Alba Iulia, Arad, Baia Mare, Bistriţa, Braşov, Carei, Cluj Napoca, Dej, Deva, Gheorgheni, Miercurea Ciuc, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Oradea, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Reghin, Satu Mare, Sfântu Gheorghe, Sibiu, Târgu Mureş, Târgu Secuiesc, Zalău. Its newest openings, apart from Bucharest, are in Ramnicu Valcea and Alexandria.

Diego operates under franchise in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. It has a network of 125 stores and plans to reach 141 by the end of this year. The total turnover of the network stays at some EUR 50 million, according to the company.
