HP and Novensys win EUR 25 million contract for national health card in Romania

HP Romania and local Novensys Corporation will supply IT solutions for introducing the national health card in Romania, a contract worth EUR 25 million with the National Health Insurance House.

Other corporations had submitted offers in the bid – UTI Systems and Certsign, Indra Systemas and Teamnet International, as well as Ericsson Telecommunications Romania and Software Development&Consulting SRL.

This was the second try for this bid, after the one in July 2011 was canceled, as Ericsson Telecommunications Romania appealed the result of the bid.

Romania will introduce the electronic health insurance card, which will centralize data about the patients, as well as provide access to drugs and medical devices. An estimated 15 million people will have an electronic health card.
