The Henri Coanda Airport in Bucharest recorded in the first quarter of 2015 a traffic of 1.8 million passengers, up 15.5% over the same period last year.

It also recorded 21,532 landings and takeoffs, a 12.6% year-on-year growth.

The main Bucharest airport ranked third among European airports with 5 to 10 million passengers, for the biggest increase in air traffic in the first quarter of 2015, according to the association Airports Council International-Europe.

It also ranked fourth for the most significant increase in air traffic in March, among the European airports of the same size.

31 airlines currently operate from the Henri Coanda airport, and fly passengers to 70 destinations.
