Romania got the gold, silver and bronze in the judo Grand prix in Abu Dhabi late last week, with good results posted by both the men and women teams. Judokas Andreea Chiţu and Corina Căprioriu received the silver, and the bronze, respectively. Another Romanian, Monica Ungureanu, was eliminated in the second tour of her group, while Violeta Dumitru also lost in the last tour in her group.

Daniel Netea was awarded the gold, while Simonescu Vladut got the silver. The two Romanians competed against each other in the final in Abu Dhabi.
