Germany to open labor market for seasonal workers from January 2011, says Romanian PM

Germany will liberalize its labor market for seasonal workers, starting January 1, 2011, Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc said Tuesday after talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Boc said Romania salutes Germany's decision to liberalize its labor market for temporary workers, as of January 1, 2011.

Germany is among European Union member states that maintain restrictions for Romanian and Bulgarian workers. Merkel is on official visit to Romania Tuesday, as the two countries celebrate 130 years of diplomatic relations.
