Fribourg chooses Chapman Taylor architects for EUR 26 mln factory reconversion in Romania

Fribourg Development will invest EUR 26 million in turning the former Libertatea furniture factory in the Romanian city of Cluj – Napoca into a technology and residential park under the name Liberty Center Technological Park and chose the reconversion project submitted by architecture firm Chapman Taylor.

Fribourg  will develop the project in stages. It hopes to kick off work on the first stage by the end of the year, which involves revamping and finishing the B and C buildings, some 7,000 sqm of offices, coffee shops and other facilities.

In total, the project will have 2,000 sqm of offices, 2,000 sqm of residential space and 17,000 sqm of green areas.

Six architecture firms submitted proposals: Romanian Arhimar and Planwerk, Italian Studio Valle Architetti, Portuguese Graphos, German Boros Tudor and the winner, Chapman Taylor from UK.

Fribourg Development is a subsidiary of the private investment fund Fribourg Investments, based in Cyprus.
