Founder of PwC Romania elected to the BRD board

08 January 2016

French financial consultant Jean-Pierre Vigroux was elected as a board member of the second largest local lender BRD-SocGen, controlled by French group Societe Generale.

He still needs the approval from Romania’s National Bank BNR to start his mandate.

Vigroux has an experience of over 30 years in consultancy for transactions and financial audit. He helped PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) set up its office in Romania, in 1991, and was later a general director.

Between 2004 and 2008 he supervised PwC’s activity in the Balkan area. Between 2008 and 2014 he was a managing partner of the audit and consultancy firm Mazars Romania.

BRD returned to profit in 2014, after two years of losses. BRD made a net profit of EUR 9.7 million, compared to losses of EUR 87 million in 2013.
