Former Romanian Minister of Finance appointed GM at cold cuts producer CrisTim

The former Romanian Minister of Finance Gheorghe Pogea has taken over the reigns of Romanian cold cuts producer CrisTim.

Pogea, 58, was Romania's Minister of Finances between December 2008 and December 2009.

He previously held the position of general manager in several companies, namely Siderurgica Hunedoara (between 1996 and 2000), Marmosim (2001 - 2004) and Titan Mar (2006 - 2008).

He graduated the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest, the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering.

Quoted by local business publication Ziarul Financiar, Pogea said of his appointment:

“I am general manager of CrisTim group starting August 6. I previously conducted consulting activities within CrisTim for 7-8 months and then I received this proposal and I accepted it. I manage the group’s development strategy." 

Romanian cold cuts producer CrisTim, owned by investor Radu Timis, started operating in 1992 with one shop and opened its first factory two years later in 1994.

Cris-Tim posted a turnover of EUR 80 million in 2011, flat compared to 2010, and a profit before taxes (EBITDA) of EUR 10.5 million.
