Former Bucharest factory demolished to make room for new Kaufland shop

The Czech group InterCora has started demolishing the former Munplast factory in Bucharest, in the Drumul Taberei neighborhood, where it plans to build a Kaufland store. InterCora has developed more than 30 stores in Romania for the retail network Kaufland.

The future Kaufland store in Drumul Taberei will cover some 3,300 sqm and opening is scheduled for the second half of 2014, according to Ziarul Financiar, quoting Kaufland representatives.

With a EUR 1.2 billion turnover in 2012, Kaufland runs 89 stores in Romania, out of which six in Bucharest, where it plans to add four more.

Munplast produces plastic products and relocated its activity in 2012 to the Faur industrial platform in Bucharest.
