Foreign direct investments increase by half in Romania

Romania’s foreign direct investments (FDI) increased by 48% year-on-year in the first four months. They amounted to EUR 1.16 billion, EUR 965 million of which represented intragroup loans, whereas EUR 199 million represented equity participation (including estimated net profit).

Last year, the FDI totaled EUR 785 million, EUR 705 of which was equity participation.

In April, foreigners invested EUR 279 million in Romania, down 41% compared to March. The highest level of FDI was recorded in March- EUR 476 million, followed by January, with EUR 299 million.
