Foreign direct investment, up by 35% in Romania

Romania attracted EUR 99 million worth of foreign direct investment (FDI) in November 2015, reaching EUR 2.88 billion inflows in the first eleven months of the year, according to Romania’s National Bank (BNR).

The FDI level was EUR 761 million higher compared to the one recorded between January and November 2014.

Of the total foreign direct investment, the equity stakes amounted to EUR 2.97 billion whereas the intra-group loans had a negative value of minus EUR 90 million.

In the first eleven months of 2014, the foreign direct investment totaled EUR 2.12 billion. The equity stakes reached EUR 2.364 billion whereas the intra-group loans amounted to EUR 242 million.
