Over 11,000 companies suspended their activity in the first eight months of this year, down 29.62% year-on-year, according to data from the Romanian Trade Registry ONRC.

The biggest number of companies that suspended activity was recorded in Bucharest – 1,375, followed by Constanta county – 543, Bihor county – 506 and Prahova county – 490.

Compared to the first eight months in 2013, the largest drops were recorded in Suceava county – down 49.06%, Brasov county – 45.83%, Olt county – 45.58% and Iasi county – 43.4%.
