European Business Awards competition selects ten National Champions from Romania

25 January 2016

The European Business Awards, the biggest business competition in Europe, has selected its national champions for the 2015/2016 edition. Ten Romanian companies have been named National Champions and will compete against 668 other European companies in the next stages of the competition.

The ten National Champions include MedLife, Romania’s biggest private healthcare group, Mol Romania, the local subsidiary of Hungarian fuel distributor Mol, IT&C integrator Teamnet Group, and law firm Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii. The other local champions are: electronics producer Elsaco Electronic, bear producer Albrau Prod, HR services group Lugera & Makler Romania, real estate consultancy firm ESOP Consulting | CORFAC International, software developer INSOFT Development & Consulting, and IT consultancy firm Wing Computer Group.

The next round requires the National Champions to make presentation videos, telling their unique stories and explaining their business success. The judges will view all of the National Champions’ videos, and award the best of this group the ‘Ruban d’Honneur’ status. Ruban d’Honneur recipients will then go on to be part of the grand final in 2016.

Last year, Romania also had ten National Champions in the competition, three of which were selected as Ruban d’Honneur (retailer Kaufland Romania, video games developer Mavenhut, and Teamnet International). In 2013 and 2014, IT&C integrator Siveco Romania was the only Romanian company to get the Ruban d’Honneur status.

Separately, the National Champion videos will be made public on the European Business Awards website as part of a two-stage public vote, which will decide the ‘National Public Champions’ for each country.

The European Business Awards, now in its 9th year, has engaged with over 32,000 business from 33 European countries this year and 678 companies from across Europe have been named as National Champions and will go through to the second phase of the competition.
