ESPE Energia to invest EUR 40 mln in small hydropower plants in Romania

ESPE Energia, part of Italian group ESPE, plans to invest EUR 40 million in building small hydropower plants in Romania, according to Lucian Ghidarcia, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, reports local Wall-street.ro.

According to him, building a small hydropower plant takes, on average, about two to three years.

ESPE already owns five such power plants in Maramures county, Northern Romania. The units are small, with installed powers between 2.5 and 4.1 MW.
