Some 800 investors registered on the electronic platform for applying for grants to finance their wind or solar energy projects, minister of energy Virgil Popescu announced on the occasion of launching the call for EUR 458 mln grants dedicated to such investments.

The grants, extended under the Relaunch and Resilience facility, cover 100% of the project's financing but are awarded under a competitive procedure.

"This scheme based on the competitive bidding procedure applies only to new installations for the production of electricity from renewable sources of wind and solar energy," the ministry said, according to local Adevarul.

The value of the grants should not exceed EUR 1.3 mln per MWh in wind projects with installed capacities between 0.2 MW and 1 MW and EUR 0.65 mln in projects with installed capacities greater than 1 MW. For the solar projects, the grants are set at EUR 0.75 mln in projects with installed capacities between 0.2 MW and 1 MW and EUR 0.425 mln in projects with installed capacities greater than 1 MW.

"The maximum aid that can be granted for an investment project cannot exceed EUR 15 mln per company, per investment project," Energy Ministry representatives also specified.
