Energy minister: Romania has already spent EUR 1 bln on new reactors, won’t cancel the project
The project to build reactors 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant will continue no matter what, as more than EUR 1 billion was invested so far in this project and no one will decide to abandon it, said energy minister Razvan Nicolescu.
He said that there are partners interested in this project. Romania recently selected China General Nuclear Power Corporation as strategic investor for this project.
The Chinese were however the only bidders interested in this project, which has an estimated cost of some EUR 6.45 billion.
