The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) granted a EUR 57 million loan for the development of Topolog-Dorobantu wind farm located in Tulcea county, in the south-east of Romania. The project belongs to LUKERG Renew, a joint venture between Italy's ERG Renew and Russia's Lukoil.

The 84 MW wind farm will have 42 Vestas V90 2 MW wind turbines.

EBRD provided EUR 38 million loan, with the remaining EUR 19 million coming from UniCredit. The Topolog-Dorobantu project is the eighth wind farm that the EBRD has financed in Romania.

"The total size of the EBRD’s wind energy portfolio in Romania stands at 473 MW, accounting for 18 percent of Romania’s 2,619 MW of installed wind power capacity. For these transactions, the bank mobilised finance of over EUR 220 million, alongside its own investment of EUR 164 million," according to a statement of the bank.
