Czech takes over as GM of Renault's commercial business in Romania

10 July 2014

Czech Jan Ptacek will be the new general manager of Renault Commercial Roumanie, the company which sells Dacia, Renault and Nissan brands in Romania. He returns to Romania after ten years, as he was marketing manager for Dacia and coordinated the marketing for the launch of Dacia Logan, in 2003, according to a company announcement.

“I’ve spent a fascinating part of my career working at this beautiful project that’s called Dacia and I’m anxious to come back to Bucharest and continue these efforts together with teams in Romania,” Ptacek said.

Ptacek, who was up until recently general manager of Renault’s business in Ukraine, will replace Thomas Dubruel starting September 1, 2014. Dubruel will become deputy general manager of Renault MAIS, Renault’s distribution company in Turkey.

Jan Ptacek, 44, has been working for Renault for 20 years. He started as marketing and management positions in Czech Republic and France. He was also marketing manager for Renault in Russia, from 2008 until 2012.

Renault Commercial Roumanie is currently the leader of the Romanian auto market, both in terms of units sold and in terms of revenues. In 2013, the company had sales of EUR 347 million and a net profit of EUR 7.1 million.
