Croatian businessman shot three times on Bucharest street

A Croatian businessman was shot three times while leaving his office in northern Bucharest on Friday evening (November 22).

Shortly after the attack, the victim entered a gas station on Aerogarii Blvd. telling employees he had been wounded in the back.

The gas station workers called the emergency number 112 and the businessman was taken to Floreasca Hospital in Bucharest where he went into surgery. He had gunshot wounds in the right thigh, the abdomen and the thorax.

Later, the family chose to treat him at a private clinic in Germany, according to Radu Gravis, head of Homicide - Bucharest Police, quoted by local Mediafax newswire.

The Croatian businessman, who is married to a Romanian woman and has two children, has been living in Romania for several years.

Sources among investigators told Mediafax that there have been several witnesses to the incident, several people claiming they heard the shots. The police is currently investigating the case.
