Cluj-Napoca launches more night transport lines

04 July 2023

Cluj-Napoca, one of Romania's vibrant cities, introduced night transport services starting from July 1.

In a recent announcement, mayor Emil Boc revealed that three designated routes are available to provide transportation options during late-night hours. The service operates every 30 minutes, from 11:00 p.m. to 02:00 a.m.

The three-night transport lines are as follows: Line 54N, which connects the Zorilor neighborhood, the central area, and the Grigorescu neighborhood; Line 5N, serving the airport, central area, and Piaţa Garii; and Line 25N, which connects the Mănăştur neighborhood, the central area, and the Gheorgheni neighborhood.

"I remind everyone that every Friday, Cluj residents and tourists can travel for free on all urban lines, regardless of the means of public transport. "Vinerea Verde" (Green Friday) - the public policy implemented by Cluj-Napoca City Hall - is a model of good practice, extending to the metropolitan area, first in Florești and from tomorrow, July 1, in Apahida," the mayor said.

To ensure efficient and eco-friendly transportation, Line 54N are served by electric buses, while Lines 5N and 25N are operated by trolleybuses.

A ticket for the night transport service can be purchased for RON 5 and is available through various channels, including the 24Pay application, point-of-sale terminals in the vehicles, or directly from the driver.
