Clinic owner gets 3 years in jail in human egg cell trafficking case in Romania

The High Court of Cassation and Justice sentenced Harry Mironescu, the owner of Sabyc clinic, and doctors Natan Lewit and Genia Ziskind, as well as Cecilia Borza and Yair Miron, to three years in prison each, without parole, for human egg trafficking.

Victor Zota, former director of the National Transplant Agency, received a 3-month sentence in prison, with parole, reports local Mediafax. The court rulings are final.

Prosecutors from the Anticorruption Directorate DIICOT indicted the six people in February 2010.
