Brazilian IT outsourcing company reaches 1,000 employees in Romania, plans to add 100 more

Stefanini Romania, the local subsidiary of Brazilian IT outsourcing group Stefanini, reached 1,000 employees in its two service centers in Bucharest and Sibiu, after creating some 300 more jobs in 2014. This makes it the largest Brazilian investor in Romania, the company recently announced.

The company plans to hire 100 more people, to meet demand from new customers. It is currently looking for IT support specialists, analysts, software developers, testing analysts, helpdesk technicians and project managers.

“In 2014 we added a significant number of new customers – over 10 new companies, while managing to keep our existing ones. We continue to see potential in manufacturing, pharma and FMCG and we expect the growth to continue at a similar pace in 2015”, said Andreea Stanescu, Service Delivery Senior Director, Stefanini Romania.

Stefanini has been present in Romania for ten years and in 2013 its local subsidiary reached a turnover of EUR 17.3 million. The service center in Bucharest, which Stefanini opened in 2004, was its first in Europe. In currently has 800 employees, 220 more than in 2013.

In 2008, the group opened another center in Sibiu, specialized in IT support services in German. The number of employees in Sibiu reached 200, from 120 last year.

Over the last 10 years, Stefanini Romania worked on more than 100 projects, for companies in various sectors. A large number of clients are from the pharmaceutical industry, manufacturing and professional services. Most clients are from the U.S., Germany and France.

Service desk projects generate about 70% of the company’s revenues in Romania, 20% come from application development and 10% from IT infrastructure services.
