Blue Air launches flights between Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca this June

08 February 2016

The domestic flights market is becoming more competitive, as more airlines start operating routes between Romanian cities.

Romania’s low-cost airline Blue Air will operate direct flights between Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca starting June 3. The announcement came three weeks after low-cost airline Wizz Air also announced that it would introduce flights between the Romanian capital and Cluj-Napoca in July.

Blue Air will operate the flights four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with ticket prices starting at RON 89.99 (some EUR 20). Wizz Air has announced cheaper flights, however, of RON 39 (some EUR 9).

Lufthansa will also increase the number of flights on the route Cluj-Napoca - Munich starting May 23, according to a statement of the Avram Iancu International Airport in Cluj. The carrier will operate the flights five times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
