American destroyer USS Cole makes 4-day stop in Romania’s Constanta port

American destroyer USS Cole is in Romania’s Constanta port until February 12.

The visit is part of the Romanian-American strategic partnership and represents a continuation of joint activities carried out to increase confidence and security in the Black Sea, according to a statement of the Romanian Navy.

On this occasion, Romanian and American military will perform joint training activities.

After February 12, they will carry out military exercises at sea, together with the crew of Marasesti frigate, sea dredger Slt. Alexandru Axente and an IAR 330 Puma Naval helicopter.

“The exercises aim to maintain Romanian Navy sailors’ high level of training,” according to the statement.

The activities were planned one year ago.
