American rock band Iron Butterfly will perform in Bucharest on February 19, 2012, at Hard Rock Cafe (in Herastrau Park) in the capital city, from 20:30. Their gig in Romania is part of the band’s European tour.

The band was formed in 1966 in San Diego and released the first album titled ‘Heavy’ in 1968. The 17-minute "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", the title track of Iron Butterfly's second album released in the same year, became a Top Thirty hit in the US. The album sold over 20 million copies, received platinum, and remained on the Billboard magazine charts for more than one year.

The band’s music featured in several movies, such as ‘Manhunter’, ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2’, and ‘Fatal Instinct’. The current lineup of Iron Butterfly includes Ron Bushy - drums, Lee Dorman - bass guitar, vocals, Charlie Marinkovich - lead guitar, vocals, and Martin Gerschwitz - keyboards, violin.
