Sergiu Oprescu, the head of Alpha Bank Romania, will take over as president of the Romanian Banking Association (ARB), replacing Radu Ghetea, who has been leading the association for the last 15 years.

Ghetea, currently the GM of state-owned CEC Bank, will continue to hold the honorary president position at ARB.

The GM of Piraeus Bank Catalin Vasile Parvu, Gabriela - Stefania Gavrilescu – the deputy GM of BRD and Luminita Delia Runcan – deputy GM with Banca Transilvania, have been appointed board members, on three-year mandates.

ARB was founded in 1991 and has 39 members.
