Insurer Allianz Tiriac posted gross subscribed premiums worth EUR 58 million in Romania in the first quarter of the year, up 5.5 percent year-on-year.

The growth was mainly due to the increase on the property and accident insurance segments, according to Allianz’ financial results. Net premiums amounted to EUR 39 million.

These two segments made the bulk of gross premiums – EUR 53 million, while health and life insurance dropped, form EUR 6 million in the first quarter of last year, to EUR 5 million.
The group’s operational profit was up to EUR 4 million in the first quarter, from EUR 1 million the same quarter of 2013.
