French group Accor made an offer to sell 46 hotel businesses in Central Europe, including Romania, to Poland’s hotel group Orbis for EUR 142 million.

"We have been analysing the possibilities of development through acquisitions for some time now,"  the president of  Orbis's board Gilles Clavie said in a statement.

The offer includes hotels, either controlled directly, or via management contracts, located in the capital cities of Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland. Orbis, which owns 68 hotels in Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, said it would make a decision in the coming weeks.

In Romania, Accor runs six hotels, namely a Pullman hotel, a Novotel and four Ibis hotels.
