Consultancy firm A.T.Kearney will help local lender Banca Transilvania integrate Volksbank, which it bought in December last year via the largest bank takeover in the last years.

BT is currently trying to get the green light from the Romanian National Bank and the Competition Council for this takeover.

Banca Transilvania is the largest lender in Romania majority owned by Romanian investors (51%).

Volksbank was the ninth largest bank in Romania by assets, at the end of 2013, with some EUR 3 billion in assets and a market share of 3.8% (down from 6.8% in 2008).

A.T. Kearney has been active on the Romanian market for 10 years.
