Vodafone’s yearly revenues in Romania stay at EUR 700 mln

21 May 2014

Telecom company Vodafone Romania posted service revenues of EUR 703.7 million in the 2013-2014 fiscal year, slightly down compared to the same period the year before, on an organic basis, mainly due to lower mobile termination rates.

Without the effect of the mobile termination rate cut, the company’s service revenues for 2013/2014 financial year went up 2 percent, also on an organic basis.

In the quarter ended on March 31, 2014, service revenues were of EUR 173.6 million, up 3.8 percent year-on-year, on an organic basis.

Across Europe, service revenues declined. "However, Hungary and Romania returned to growth in H2, and all other markets apart from Portugal showed an improvement in revenue declines in Q4," according to Vodafone's report.

The total revenues for the full year amounted to EUR 748.5 million, a decrease of 2.2 percent against the previous year, on organic basis.

Revenues from mobile data went up 20.5 percent year-on-year in the quarter ended March 31, 2014, while for the entire year the increase was of 25.1 percent.

The EBITDA profit reached EUR 248.4 million for the full year. At the end of March, the company had 8.18 million customers, down from 8.31 million at the end of December. Of the total, 59.5 percent are prepaid customers, and the rest have a subscription.
