Nature NGO launches virtual exhibition covering Romania’s Făgăraș Mountains

07 April 2022

Conservation Carpathia Foundation (FCC) has launched a virtual gallery of images and stories covering the nature and communities of the Făgăraș Mountains.

The gallery, available here, aims to recreate the landscape of the mountains in seven themed halls, taking visitors through forests, alpine pastures, peaks, flora, fauna, waters, and the communities of the mountains.

The gallery includes a selection of photos from the album 2544m – The Stories of Făgăraș Mountains, made by photographer Dan Dinu, one of the directors of the documentary Wild Romania, with support from the OAK Foundation. In addition to the images, the platform users can also listen to nature sounds – the sounds of rivers, streams, cascades or the wind.

“We wanted to bring the experience we live every day to those who cannot readily enjoy nature. This gallery brings one close to nature. With this project, we aim to make known the foundation’s sustainable development activities in Făgăraș as we can all contribute to them,” Christoph Promberger, executive director of FCC, explained.
