Vacant jobs increase by 7,000 in Romania

The number of job vacancies in Romania reached 45,100 in the first quarter of 2015, up 7,000 year-on-year.

Some 27% of the jobs are in the manufacturing industry, according to the National Institute of Statistics.

The vacancy rate amounted to 1.03% in the first three months of the year, up 0.12% over the previous quarter. It also increased by 0.13% year-on-year.

The highest vacancy rates were recorded in public administration (3.13%) and other services (2.55%).

The manufacturing industry had 12,000 vacant jobs. The public sector accounted for over a third of the total vacant jobs. The public administration had 7,800 vacant jobs, the health and social care sector recorded 5,500 vacant jobs and education had 2,200 vacant places.

Energy production and supply sector recorded the lowest number of job vacancies, namely 0.15%.
