UPS Romania’s exports volume up 15% in first nine months of 2011

Parcel service company UPS Romania’s exports volume increased by 15 percent in the first nine months of 2011, compared to the same period in 2010. The company operates daily airfreight flights from Otopeni - Cologne and Timisoara - Cologne, and currently has 118 employees in Romania.

At a group level, UPS posted revenues of USD 14.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2011, and an adjusted operating profit of over USD 2 billion, according to the company.

Headquartered in Atlanta, UPS serves more than 220 countries and territories worldwide. The company entered the Romanian market in 1990 through the authorized contractor Romtrans. Since 2000 it has been working through Trans Courier Service, a company within Romtrans, which was acquired by UPS in 2008.
