UK investors buy a third of Romania’s 10-year Eurobonds
Investors from the UK bought a third of the Eurobonds with a 10-year maturity issued by Romania on the external markets last week. The yield for the 10-year bonds worth EUR 1.25 bln amounted to 2.84% per year, which is a record low for such maturity.
Investors from Romania bought 12% of the 10-year Eurobonds, followed by investors from Germany and Austria (11%).
Romania attracted EUR 2 billion on the international markets, two times more than the planned amount, as the total amount was over EUR 3 billion. The country sold 20-year euro-denominated bonds worth EUR 750 million at 245 basis points above the mid-swap rate, which is currently just under 1%, and 10-year bonds worth EUR 1.25 billion at 190 basis points above mid-swaps.
The 20-year maturity is the longest that Romania has offered so far.
