Turnover in Romania's economy, up 9.5% in first half

The total turnover in Romania’s economy went up by 9.5% in the first half of this year compared to the same period of 2016, reaching RON 609 billion (EUR 134 billion), according to finance minister Ionut Misa, reports local Agerpres.

The total gross profit also went up by 8.4% year-on-year in the same period and the overall gross profit margin in the economy reached 6%, he added.

The finance minister also told the Parliament that the state’s Treasury has the state’s expenses covered for the next seven months and that Romania has recently borrowed money from international markets at record low costs.

The Senate rejected yesterday a simple motion against the finance minister, initiated by opposition parties.
