Survey: 8 out of 10 Romanians encounter problems when traveling to the EU

31 March 2015

A recent study conducted by the European Consumer Center Romania (ECC) reveals that 77% of Romanian consumers encountered problems during their trips to the European Union (EU).

Most of the problems were related to the delay or cancelations of their means of transport (mainly flights), but they also had problems with their luggage. 88% haven’t addressed a specialized consumer protection institution.

In terms of rights when traveling abroad, 31% mentioned the freedom of movement, free health care/emergency health care, the right to information and quality services.

ECC participated as an exhibitor at the spring edition of Romania’s Tourism Fair between March 1 and March 16. The institution offered participants brochures with information about what rights they have when traveling to Europe.
