American Serena Williams won the final of the WTA Finals tournament in Singapore against Romanian Simona Halep, after two sets ended 6-3, 6-0. She took revenge for the match she lost to Halep in the tournament’s group stage, on Wednesday, when Halep won 6-0, 6-2.

The first games of the final were really balanced and long and it seemed that the match could go either way. But then Serena took the initiative and showed why she’s number one. She started serving better and she made great returns, while Simona couldn’t find her rhythm and made a lot of mistakes.

Simona Halep will get 890 WTA points and a check for USD 970,000 for reaching the final in Singapore. She will advance to number three in the WTA ranking.
