Serbian Rudnap stops operations on Romania's energy market

23 June 2014

Serbian company Rudnap, which exported significant amounts of energy from Romania to Serbia in 2010 and 2011, has ceased its activity on the energy market and asked Romania’s energy authority ANRE to withdraw its supply license, reports local Mediafax.

The company’s license was withdrawn last week by ANRE’s regulatory committee.

In 2010, Rudnap acquired energy from Romania’s Electrica and exported it. The contract was attributed directly, without a tender.

The electricity that Electrica sold to the Serbian company was acquired from state-owned producers Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, and thermo-plants Turceni and Rovinari.

Rudnap’s turnover in Romania increased to EUR 135 million in 2011, from some EUR 76 million recorded the year before.
