RO Govt. settles delayed wage payments in schools

Romania's minister of education, Sorin Cîmpeanu, announced on May 16 that all the salaries of the employees in the education system have been paid.

He added that the Ministry of Education "regrets the delays due to computer errors at the level of an institution within the structure of another ministry and reiterates its support for a motivating salary and, obviously, for the timely payment of all education staff".

"Without financial resources, one cannot imagine an education in the spirit of quality and equity," Cîmpeanu concluded.

Earlier, Sorin Cîmpeanu announced on Digi24 that in five counties salaries were not received on time, in education, due to an IT error at the Ministry of Finance, which affected the payment of salaries to public employees in several counties.
