Romania's Tax Agency collects revenues of over EUR 4.3 bln in January

Romania’s Tax Agency ANAF collected total revenues of RON 19.25 billion (EUR 4.3 billion) in January this year, up by 16% compared to the same month in 2015.

The collected revenues had a share of 2.58% in the GDP in January, up by 0.22 percentage points compared to last year. The VAT collection rose by 20% compared to last year, reaching EUR 1.5 billion.

The revenues collected in January 2016 reflect the economic activity of December last year, reads an ANAF release.

The Tax Agency raised EUR 500 million from the individual income tax, down 2% compared to January 2015. The corporate profit tax generated earnings of over EUR 100 million, up 48% year-on-year. The revenues from excise duties increased by 29% to EUR 598 million.
