Romania’s Dacia maintains double-digit growth in Germany and France

Sales of new Dacia cars in Germany and France, two of the largest markets in Europe, grew more than the overall markets in the first seven months of this year.

Dacia sales in Germany increased by 11.2% in July, to 4,583 units, with a growth rate double that of the overall market. New car sales in Germany, which is the largest car market in Europe, increased by 6.8% last month, after a 2% decline in June.

In the first seven months of the year, 1.81 million new cars were sold in Germany, 3% more than in the same period of 2013. Dacia’s sales on the German market were up 9.7% in the same period, to 30,289 units.

In France, Dacia’ sales went up by 22.4% in the first seven months, to 66,836 units, as the overall market increased by just 1.9%, to 1.1 million cars. Dacia’s market share in France reached 6%.

In July, however, Dacia’s sales on the French market were down 14.7% as the whole market contracted by 4.3%.

In the first six months, Dacia’s sales in Europe went up by 36.2%, to 192,876 units, as the whole market advanced by 6.5%.
