14 January 2016

Romania’s Competition Council has fined with almost EUR 1 million the companies Lykos Romania and Zipper Data for taking part in an anticompetitive deal.

The two firms are active in mail processing services and personalized communication. They have coordinated their commercial strategies so they could split customers.

Lykos received a fine of EUR 843,000 whereas Zipper Data needs to pay over EUR 183,000.

The two companies have used the excuse of being associates at an auction to share confidential information. The aim was to split customers and increase their market share, said Bogdan Chitoiu, head of the Competition Council.
