30 May 2014

A platform called asiqo, developed by Lorand R. Minyo and Mircea Patachi, is the winner at the national selection of “Telekom Innovation Contest,” a competition dedicated mainly to students and entrepreneurs with startup ideas.

The platform allows advertisers to get to know the global audience of their ads, such as TV commercials, billboards, or magazine ads. asiqo creates a bridge between the online and the offline audience and enables advertisers to know the performance of their promos in real time.

The Romanian idea will compete against teams from Slovakia, Hungary, Montenegro, Macedonia, Czech Republic, Israel, Poland, Croatia, Germany, Italy and the UK, at the Champions Pitch event organized on June 27 in Krakow, Poland.

Between June 23 and June 26, Lorand R. Minyo and a member of the team can join the other finalists at a four-day Startup Training Program. Moreover, the wining team will take the stage at the "Long Night of Startups" on September 6 in Berlin, where up to 6,000 guests are expected.

Telekom Innovation Contest is powered by Telekom Innovation Laboratories, Deutsche Telekom’s incubator programs hub:raum and Kitchen Budapest, as well as many national companies of Deutsche Telekom. In Romania it’s coordinated at national level by Romtelecom and Cosmote.

The international competition’s awards include the opportunity to negotiate investments of up to EUR 150,000, inclusion in international startup programs, service packages like Amazon servers, and interactions with highly visible experts within the international Deutsche Telekom Group.

Telekom Innovation Contest was initiated in 2013 by Telekom Innovation Laboratories in Berlin, T-Mobile Poland, and Hungary-based Magyar Telekom. By April 15, 2014, over 500 teams from 46 countries had registered in this year’s contest.
